Turn an uncertain product brief into a delivery decision
An Italian startup may have a strong customer problem but several possible product directions. A useful partnership starts by identifying the smallest workflow that can test the idea. Discovery should separate business assumptions from technical unknowns and produce a sequence of decisions, not an oversized specification.
For a growing business, the starting point may instead be an operational process that existing tools cannot support. Review the exceptions and integrations before proposing a custom application. The right answer could include adapting an existing system rather than building every capability from scratch.
Set the agency and end-customer boundary
Italian agencies can discuss white-label engineering, subcontracted workstreams and specialist capacity. Agree who communicates with the end customer, who approves scope changes and whose acceptance closes a milestone. Keep these responsibilities visible in the delivery plan.
Design assets, content and third-party access are dependencies too. Confirm when they will be available and how delays affect the schedule. A technically complete implementation cannot finish the client experience if the required business inputs remain unresolved.
Keep the roadmap open to learning
Use demonstrations and written feedback to refine priorities. Distinguish a correction against agreed behavior from a new requirement, then make the effect on scope explicit. This helps the relationship remain collaborative without making the plan unbounded.
The engineering business is based in Sri Lanka. Initial collaboration is in English; Italian product copy or documentation needs an agreed author and reviewer. A longer-term arrangement can follow when the first milestone demonstrates a useful technical and working relationship.
